Welcome to My Blog

I invite you here for inspiration, laughter and illumination! I will share my poetry, my reflections on life and insights from my latest studies. Currently, I am immersing myself in women’s spirituality, the rise of the divine feminine, indigenous and shamanic wisdom, archetypal astrology, spiritual ecology and The Work that Reconnects (a movement by Joanna Macy). And all of this is rooted in my 20 year fascination with yoga including non-dual Tantra, Ayurveda and classical yoga philosophy as well as 15 years in the corporate technology world of Silicon Valley. My path has been windy, confusing even at times, but with maturity I see all these seemingly random threads coming together to weave my own authentic reality.

My goal is to discover, discuss and mobilize ancient wisdom that gives a unique perspective on our lives and the world around us. As a modern mystic, I have one foot rooted in the rich soil of the past and the other in cutting-edge discoveries and breakthroughs in science and technology. The daily energy and inspiration for my yoga practice and writing comes from the awe-inspiring mysteries of the world around us and the realization that we must each heal the broken places within ourselves before we can heal others and the world. My approach is both mystical and practical - as I sit on the Virgo/Pisces axis of the Priestess, weaving the two together like day and night, sun and moon, spirit and matter. I bow humbly to the wisdom keepers of the Earth that continue to teach us ways to live in harmony with each other and all of creation.

We are living in intense times - people are losing their lives to COVID, racism and sexism have been exposed as structural foundations of American culture, extreme economic inequality continues to widen the gap between uber-rich and poor, and all of this while our Earth, our only home, heats up and we lose 150 of her species per day. Part of my mission here in this body-suit for this lifetime is to illuminate the ways our culture limits our potential and empower each of us to live our most authentic, vibrant lives. Whether we humans will make it 30 years, 100 years or 1m years is now up to each of us and our choices. We, in the midst of all our other human challenges, need to step up now and become stewards of the Earth. Don’t believe the lie that you don’t matter, that the problem is already too great for you to make a difference. Together, may we use our imaginations, our hands, our voices, our minds and our deep gratitude for being alive to usher in a higher consciousness on planet Earth, one that lives harmoniously within the web of life.

And so it is!

With love and in gratitude,

Whitney
